What is MVP Academy?
MVP Academy is a brand new partnership with Monty Tech beginning in Fall 2024. Juniors and seniors from Fitchburg HS, Gardner HS, and Narragansett Regional HS will be able to participate in Monty Tech’s Carpentry and Electrical programs, all while remaining enrolled as a student at their home high school!

What will it look like?
In the same way a Monty Tech student does, Fitchburg High School MVP Academy students will operate on an “A Week/B Week” schedule, rotating between their academics and shop.
Academic Week
Shop Week
Students will attend school at Fitchburg High School and take classes with FHS staff.
They will take all of their core academic classes, such as English, Math, Science, and History.
Students will attend school at
Monty Tech and take classes with Monty Tech staff.
They will participate in shop training, shop-related classes, and work-based learning.

CARPENTRY
A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Includes instruction in technical mathematics, framing, construction materials and selection, job estimating, blueprint reading, foundations and roughing-in, finish carpentry techniques, and applicable codes and standards.
After graduation students may seek employment in any of the following career pathways:

A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to install, operate, maintain, and repair electric apparatus and systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electric-power wiring; and DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels. Includes instruction in the principles of electronics and electrical systems, wiring, power transmission, safety, industrial and household appliances, job estimation, electrical testing and inspection, and applicable codes and standards.
