Step 1:

Navigate to one.sjsu.edu and search for "MySJSU"

Once you click on the "MySJSU" icon, you will be prompted to log in

Once you are on your Student Center homepage, click on the "Search" hyperlink

on the left under your "Academics" section or in the center of the page.

Step 3a:

1. Make sure you select the appropriate term if asked.

2. Enter “COMM” into the 1st text box. If you don’t know the department prefix, click the "Select Subject" button

3. Enter the course number or letter in the 2nd text box. For example, 101C, F, I, or P.

4. Select “Undergraduate” for Course Career.

5. Click the box to Show Open Classes Only

Step 4:

Click the down arrows to expand the course options

Click "Select" on the course in which you wish to enroll

Scroll down and click "New Search" or "Modify Search" if you did not find what you were looking for

*Note:

    • Open: A green circle indicates the class is open
    • Closed: A blue square indicates the class is full
    • Wait List: A yellow triangle indicates there is a waitlist to add this class

Step 5:

Click the "Next" button if you are enrolling in an open class.

If you want to add yourself to the waitlist make sure you check the "Wait list if class

is full" box. Then, click the "Next" button.

*Graduating seniors are selected from the waitlist first, regardless of their place on the waitlist.

Step 6:

The course will be added to the shopping cart. *NOTE: This does not mean you have enrolled in the course.

You must click “Enroll” and follow the prompts to finish enrolling.

*TIP: Enroll in classes one at a time so that they don't just sit in your shopping cart.

Step 7:

Once you are taken to the enroll page, click “Continue” to proceed.

Finally, you will be taken to another page

Click "Finish Enrolling" to formally enroll in the course(s) you selected

You will know if you have enrolled successfully by the green “Success” message.

If you see a red “Error” message, you will be unable to enroll and you will get a message explaining why. The reasons my vary. You may email the professor to request a permission number to enroll.
