  • Born in Haiti in a family of Catholics
  • Raised with father and siblings after mother traveled to USA
  • Traveled back and forth to maternal grandmother’s home occasionally
  • Watched and listened to my Pentecostal grandmother read the Bible aloud
  • Attended Catholics schools
  • Mandatory church attendance on Sunday with grandmother and school
  • No church or religious upbringing when away from grandmother and school
  • Practiced un-forgiveness
  • Learned to pray when in trouble

  • Continued to pray when in trouble and to avoid trouble
  • Struggled to love others
  • Felt a longing for closeness to God
  • Met and married husband into the Baptist faith
  • Learn to read and understand God’s Word
  • Fell in love with Jesus upon learning He loved me to death
  • Confused by Jesus’ love for me, a sinner
  • My struggle to love others began to vanish
