A new beginning

​

At baptism a new spiritual life begins. Our old way of life ends when we are buried “with him (Christ) by baptism into death”. Then, as “Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father”, we too rise from the water to begin a new life in Christ (Romans 6:4). At our baptism we promise God that we will change our way of life to serve Him. It is a decision to commit ourselves to Him for the rest of our lives. This huge change to our way of life requires effort and determination and is only possible with God’s help. But the change does not take place all at once and we will often fail. W hen we ask for forgiveness, God will hear us for Jesus’ sake:

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

شروعی تازه

در تعمید زندگی روحانی جدیدی آغاز می‌شود. زندگی قدیمی‌ ما زمانی پایان می‌پذیرد که دفن می‌شویم: "در مرگ او تعمید یافتیم". سپس همانند مسیح که "به وسیلۀ جلال پدر، از مردگان برخیزانیده شد" ما نیز از آب برخاسته و زندگی جدیدی را در مسیح آغاز می‌کنیم (رومیان 6: 4). در تعمید با خدا پیمان می‌بندیم تا زندگی خود را در راه خدمت به او تغییر دهیم. این تصمیمی ‌است برای وقف زندگی خود به خدا. این تغییر بزرگ در زندگی، نیازمند عزم و تلاش زیادی است و تنها با کمک خدا امکان‌پذیر می‌باشد. اما این تغییرات همه با هم و در یک لحظه انجام نمی‌شود و معمولا با شکست نیز مواجه می‌شویم. وقتی از خدا طلب بخشش می‌کنیم، خدا ما را بخاطر مسیح می‌شنود:

"پس آزادانه به تخت فیض نزدیک شویم تا رحمت بیابیم و فیضی را حاصل کنیم که به هنگام نیاز یاریمان دهد" (عبرانیان 4: 16).

A new way of thinking

​

In Lesson 27 we learned that God is pure and righteous and so He is totally separate from the thinking, desires, ambitions and ways of all men and women. Therefore, when we commit ourselves to God, He asks us to separate ourselves from the ways of the world and commit ourselves to His ways and principles. Thus the new way of life needs a new way of thinking: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry” (Colossians 3:1-5). In Galatians 5:16-24 Paul again shows how our thinking has to change. ‘Flesh’ stands for our sinful thoughts and ‘Spirit’ for Godly thoughts. He shows how they are opposites: “… the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do”.

در درس ۲۷ آموختیم که خدا خالص و عادل است و همینطور از افکار، امیال، آرزوها و روش‌های انسانی کاملا به دور است. بنابراین وقتی خود را وقف خدا کنیم او از ما می‌خواهد که از راه دنیا جدا شده و خود را در اختیار قوانین و روش‌های او قرار دهیم. پس روش جدید زندگی به طرز فکری جدید نیز نیاز دارد:

"پس چون با مسیح برخیزانیده شده‌اید، آنچه را که در بالاست بجویید، آنجا که مسیح به دست راست خدا نشسته است. به آنچه در بالاست بیندیشید، نه به آنچه بر زمین است. زیرا مُردید و زندگی شما اکنون با مسیح در خدا پنهان است. چون مسیح که زندگی شماست، ظهور کند، آنگاه شما نیز همراه او با جلال ظاهر خواهید شد. پس، هرآنچه را در وجود شما زمینی است، بکُشید، یعنی بی‌عفتی، ناپاکی، هوی و هوس، امیال زشت و شهوت‌پرستی را که همان بت‌پرستی است" (کولسیان 3: 1-5). 

در غلاطیان 5: 16-24 پولس باز نشان می‌دهد که چگونه افکار ما باید تغییر کند. "جسم" نشان دهنده افکار گناه آلود ماست و "روح" افکار خداییست. پولس نشان می‌دهد که این دو با یکدیگر در مغایرت هستند: "زیرا خواهش جسم به خلاف روح است و خواهش روح به خلاف جسم و این دو با یکدیگر منازعه می‌کنند بطوری که آنچه می‌خواهید نمی‌کنید" (غلاطیان 5: 17).

"اعمال نَفْس روشن است: بی‌عفتی، ناپاکی، و هرزگی؛ بت‌پرستی و جادوگری؛ دشمنی، ستیزه‌جویی، رشک، خشم؛ جاه‌طلبی، نفاق، دسته‌بندی، حسد؛ مستی، عیاشی و مانند اینها. چنانکه پیشتر به شما هشدار دادم، باز می‌گویم که کنندگان چنین کارها پادشاهی خدا را به میراث نخواهند برد".

… sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

غلاطیان 5: 19-21 (اعمال جسم) GALATIANS 5:19-21 (THE WORKS OF THE FLESH ARE)

امّا ثمرۀ روح، محبت، شادی، آرامش، صبر، مهربانی، نیکویی، وفاداری، فروتنی و خویشتنداری است. هیچ شریعتی مخالف اینها نیست".

… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

غلاطیان 5: 22-23 (ثمره روح) GALATIANS 5:22,23 (THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS)

This shows clearly that there will be a continual struggle in our spiritual lives because “the fruit of the Spirit” (godliness) is very different from “the works of the flesh” (the ways of the world). The apostle Paul also likens the change to taking off old clothes and putting on new ones. He tells us in Ephesians 4:22,24 to “put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires … and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness”.

The following table shows the old self we should take off and the new self we should put on.

این بدین معناست که همیشه در زندگی روحانی ما کشمکش‌هایی وجود خواهد داشت، چون ثمره روح به نسبت اعمال جسم (روشهای دنیا) بسیار متفاوت هستند.پولس رسول این تغییر را همانند در آوردن لباسی کهنه و پوشیدن لباسی نو تشبیه کرد. او در افسسیان 4: 22 و 24 به ما می‌گوید: "شما آموختید که باید به لحاظ شیوۀ زندگی پیشین خود، آن انسان قدیم را که تحت‌تأثیر امیالِ فریبنده دستخوش فساد بود، از تن به در آورید ... و انسان جدید را در بر کنید، که آفریده شده است تا در پارسایی و قدّوسیت حقیقی، شبیه خدا باشد" (افسسیان 4: 22 و 24).

God’s will or our will?

​

It is easy to worship God on Sunday but then ignore Him on other days. This is unacceptable. Our worship will only be sincere if we try to serve God all the time. Those in Christ will behave very differently from people in the world around them. Understanding the Bible is of no value unless we practise what it teaches us. In Matthew 7:15-23 Jesus says that a diseased tree cannot produce good fruit nor can a thorn bush produce grapes. By this he meant that people who are inwardly full of evil cannot show true Christian qualities. They will be rejected by the Lord: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). Jesus chose to do his Father’s will. It was hard. Those who choose to do God’s will are promised a place in His heavenly kingdom when it is established on earth. There may be times when we do not know whether it is right to do something. We may pray about it, but still not be sure because the Bible does not seem to tell us. To help us decide we should ask ourselves if Jesus would do it, if he were on earth today. If Jesus would not do it, then neither should his followers.

پرستش خدا در روزهای یکشنبه و بی‌اعتنایی به او در روزهای دیگر آسان است اما قابل قبول نیست. پرستش‌های ما زمانی قابل قبول است که صادقانه باشد. افرادی که در مسیح عیسی هستند برخورد بسیار متفاوتی نسبت به دیگر انسانهای اطرافشان دارند. درک کتاب مقدس زمانی ارزشمند است که به آنها عمل کنیم. در متي 7: 15-23 مسیح می‌گوید که درخت بیمار نمی‌تواند میوه بیاورد و همچنین بوته خار نمی‌تواند انگور داشته باشد. با این مثال او نشان می‌دهد کسانی که از درون پر از شرارت هستند هرگز نمی‌توانند یک مسیحی واقعی باشند و توسط خدا پذیرفته نمی‌شوند: "نه هر که مرا ’سرورم، سرورم‘ خطاب کند به پادشاهی آسمان راه یابد، بلکه تنها آن که ارادۀ پدر مرا که در آسمان است، به جا آوَرَد" (متی 7: 21).

مسیح انتخاب کرد که اراده پدر را بجا آورد و این بسیار سخت بود. کسانی که اراده خدا را بجا می‌آورند جایگاهی در پادشاهی خدا هنگام برقرار شدن آن بر روی زمین به آنها داده خواهد شد. گاهی شاید در درستی انجام کاری شک کنید. برای آن دعا می‌کنید اما باز هم اطمینان نمی‌یابید. چون کتاب مقدس هم به نظر می‌آید که چیزی درباره آن نگفته است. برای کمک به خود می‌توانیم از خودمان بپرسیم که اگر مسیح بر روی زمین بود این کار را انجام می‌داد؟ اگر مسیح آن کار را انجام نمی‌داد پس شاگردانش نیز نباید آن را انجام دهند.

Belonging to a worldwide family

By God’s grace we become His sons and daughters at our baptism (2 Corinthians 6:18). It is an amazing thing that the Almighty God wants such a close relationship with us. But we will only continue to have this fellowship with God and the Lord Jesus if we “walk in the light”, avoiding the darkness of sin (1 John 1:6,7).

Christadelphians have a worldwide fellowship. They all accept Jesus Christ as their Head and the Bible as their guide and only authority. This is why it is important to read it regularly, as we will discuss further in the next lesson. Prayer, collectively and individually, is also essential.

Jesus knew that his followers would easily forget how much he did by dying for them. At the last meal he shared with his disciples (the Last Supper), he told them how to remember his death (Luke 22:14-20). The bread and the wine are symbols to remind baptized followers of how Jesus gave his life for them, the bread representing his body, and the wine his blood. Disciples of Christ are commanded to remember his death regularly through these symbols. Christadelphians meet once a week to do this.

عضوی از خانواده جهانی بودن

به واسطه فیض خدا در تعمید ما دختران و پسران خدا می‌شویم (2 قرنتیان 6: 18). این یک امر شگفت‌انگیز است که خدای قادر مطلق چنین رابطه نزدیکی را با ما می‌خواهد. ولی ما زمانی می‌توانیم به این رابطه با خدا و عیسی مسیح ادامه دهیم که "در نور قدم برداریم" و از تاریکی گناه خودداری کنیم (1 يوحنا 1: 6-7).

کریستادلفینی‌ها روابطی جهانی دارند. همه آنها عیسی مسیح را بعنوان سر خود و کتاب مقدس را بعنوان راهنما و تنها قدرت پذیرفته اند. به همین خاطر خواندن روزانه آن مهم است. در درس بعد بیشتر در مورد آن توضیح خواهیم داد. دعاهای شخصی و در جمع نیز ضروریست.

مسیح می‌دانست که شاگردانش به راحتی کاری را که او بواسطه مرگش برای آنها انجام داده را فراموش می‌کنند. در شام آخر سخنانی را با آنها در میان گذاشت. او به آنها گفت که مرگش را چگونه یادآوری کنند. (لوقا 22: 14-20). نان و شراب نمادی است تا پیروان تعمیدی بخاطر آورند که مسیح چگونه زندگی خود را برای آنها قربانی کرد. نان نشانی از بدن عیسی و شراب نشانی از خون اوست. به پیروان مسیح دستور داده شده که با این نمادها همیشه مرگ او را یادآوری کنند. کریستادلفینی‌ها یک بار در هفته برای انجام این کار دور هم جمع می‌شوند.

Loving and serving one another

​

At the Last Supper, Jesus “laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him” (John 13:4,5).

The washing of feet was a servant’s work yet that is what Jesus did. Afterwards he said, “I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you” (John 13:15).

He served his disciples with love and humility, and we must serve each other. Then we shall be the type of people that God wants in His kingdom: Jesus said to his disciples before his death – and he still says it to true believers today, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12). He loved us so much that he suffered a very painful and shameful death for us. He laid down his life for us, and the apostle John says, “we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers” (1 John 3:16). It is a huge challenge to love others as Jesus has loved us!

محبت و خدمت به یکدیگر

در شام آخر، مسيح "از شام برخاست و ردا از تن به در آورد و حوله‌ای برگرفته، به کمر بست. سپس آب در لگنی ریخت و شروع کرد به شستن پاهای شاگردان و خشک کردن آنها با حوله‌ای که به کمر داشت" (يوحنا 13: 4-5).

شستن پا کار خدمتکاران بود اما مسیح این کار را انجام داد. پس از آن گفت: "من با این کار، سرمشقی به شما دادم تا شما نیز همان‌گونه رفتار کنید که من با شما کردم" (يوحنا 13: 15).

او با محبت و فروتنی به شاگردانش خدمت کرد. پس ما نیز باید به یکدیگر خدمت کرده و شبیه انسان‌هایی شویم که خدا می‌خواهد در پادشاهی خود داشته باشد. "خوشا به حال حلیمان، زیرا آنان زمین را به میراث خواهند برد" (متی 5: 5).

مسیح قبل از مرگش به شاگردانش گفت و امروزه نیز به پیروانش می‌گوید: "حکم من این است که یکدیگر را محبت کنید، چنانکه من شما را محبت کرده‌ام" (يوحنا 15: 12).

او آنقدر ما را دوست داشت که بخاطر ما زیر بار مرگی دردناک و شرم آور رفت. او زندگی خود را به جهت ما داد. یوحنای رسول می‌گوید: "محبت را از آنجا شناخته‌ایم که او جان خود را در راه ما نهاد، و ما نیز باید جان خود را در راه برادران بنهیم" (1 يوحنا 3: 16).

محبت به یکدیگر، همانطور که مسیح به ما محبت کرد یک چالش بزرگ است.

Often we know how we should behave towards each other, but we find it very hard to do so. Our old self takes a long time to die! Some of us are proud, some quick-tempered; others are moody and easily irritated; all of us have our faults. These are things we have to fight against, as we try to show to others the love that Jesus has shown to us. There is a picture of that Christian love in 1 Corinthians 13. Read it for yourself. Here are verses 4-7 of the chapter: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”.

همه ما می‌دانیم که باید چگونه با هم رفتار کنیم اما عمل به آن بسیار دشوار است. بسیار زمان می‌برد تا انسانیت کهنه ما از بین برود. بعضی از ما مغروریم، یعنی زود خشمگین شده و دمدمی ‌مزاج و حساس هستیم. هر کدام از ما خطاهایی داریم. اینها مواردی هستند که باید با آنها بجنگیم. در عین حال محبت مسیح را نیز باید به دیگران نشان دهیم. تصویری از محبت مسیحی در اول قرنتیان باب 13 وجود دارد. آیات 4 تا ۷ را می‌بینید: "محبت بردبار و مهربان است؛ محبت حسد نمی‌برد؛ محبت فخر نمی‌فروشد و کبر و غرور ندارد. رفتار ناشایسته ندارد و نفع خود را نمی‌جوید؛ به آسانی خشمگین نمی‌شود و کینه به دل نمی‌گیرد؛ محبت از بدی مسرور نمی‌شود، امّا با حقیقت شادی می‌کند. محبت با همه چیز مدارا می‌کند، همواره ایمان دارد، همیشه امیدوار است و در همه حال پایداری می‌کند" (1 قرنتیان 13: 4-7).

Loving our neighbour and our enemies

Today many people demand their rights, and those who stand up for themselves are admired. Most people want to get the best for themselves, even if it means others have to suffer. But Christians should try to help others, even if they suffer in doing so. A lawyer once came to Jesus, and asked him which was the greatest commandment. Jesus said to him,

محبت به همسایه و دشمنان یکدیگر

امروزه افراد زیادی به دنبال حق خود هستند و کسانی که بر پای خود ایستاده‌اند مورد ستایش قرار می‌گیرند. انسانها بهترین را برای خود می‌خواهند، حتی اگر به قیمت عذاب دادن دیگران باشد. اما مسیحیان باید به دیگران کمک کنند، حتی اگر باعث عذاب کشیدن خودشان باشد. روزی فقیهی نزد مسیح آمد و از او پرسید حکم اعظم کدام است؟ مسیح به او گفت:

​

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39).

Read the story Jesus told about a good neighbour in Luke 10:30-37. If anyone is in need, we should help him, even if he is our enemy. W e are not to stop and think whether we like him or not, or whether he really deserves our help. Jesus also said, “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you …” (Matthew 5:43,44).

The greatest thing we can do for others is to tell them the good news of the Kingdom of God. As God has invited us to keep His ways and to share the joys of His kingdom, so we will want to invite others to share these things.

"عیسی پاسخ داد: خداوند: خدای خود را با تمامی‌ دل و با تمامی ‌جان و با تمامی ‌فکر خود محبت نما. این نخستین و بزرگترین حکم است. دوّمین حکم نیز همچون حکم نخستین است: همسایه‌ات را همچون خویشتن محبت نما" (متی 22: 37-39).

داستانی که مسیح در مورد همسایه خوب در لوقا 10: 30-37 گفت را بخوانید. اگر کسی محتاج است باید به او کمک کنیم، حتی اگر آن شخص دشمن ماست. نباید تعلل کرده و تفکر کنیم که آیا از او خوشمان می‌آید یا خیر و یا آیا او واقعا نیازمند کمک است و یا نه. مسیح نیز گفته است: "پس با مردم همان‌گونه رفتار کنید که می‌خواهید با شما رفتار کنند. این است خلاصۀ تورات و نوشته‌های انبیا" (متى 7: 12).

"شنیده‌اید که گفته شده، همسایه‌ات را محبت نما و با دشمنت دشمنی کن. امّا من به شما می‌گویم دشمنان خود را محبت نمایید و برای آنان که به شما آزار می‌رسانند، دعای خیر کنید" (متى 5: 43-44).

بزرگترین کاری که می‌توانیم برای دیگران انجام دهیم دادن خبر خوب پادشاهی خداست. همانطور که خدا ما را دعوت کرده تا راه او را حفظ کنیم و شادی پادشاهی را با دیگران سهیم شویم، پس ما نیز باید دیگران را برای سهیم شدن دعوت کنیم.

Christian behaviour and our money, health and time

Jesus warned: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money” (Matthew 6:24).

Paul showed that we should be content with what we have (1 Timothy 6:6-10). True followers of the Lord Jesus will not therefore gamble (1 Timothy 6:17) or take bribes (Exodus 23:8). Money and possessions are given to us by God (1 Chronicles 29:14-16) and we should not abuse them.

We should use them to live sensibly and to serve God. Similarly our health and strength are God-given, so those in Christ should not be involved in activities which will damage their health, or affect the lives of their loved ones. So, for example, they will avoid smoking, drinking alcohol to excess, and drug abuse. Those already involved with any of these will know how hard it can be to give them up, but with great determination and help from the Lord Jesus it can be achieved. Our time is also God-given and so should be used sensibly (Ephesians 5:16). Paul says:

رفتار مسیحی و پول و سلامتی و زمان

مسیح هشدار داد: "هیچ‌کس دو ارباب را خدمت نتواند کرد، زیرا یا از یکی نفرت خواهد داشت و به دیگری مهر خواهد ورزید، و یا سرسپردۀ یکی خواهد بود و دیگری را خوار خواهد شمرد. نمی‌توانید هم بندۀ خدا باشید، هم بندۀ پول" (متی 6: 24).

پولس نشان داد که ما باید از آنچه که داریم راضی و خشنود باشیم (1 تيموتائوس 6: 6-10). پس پیروان واقعی مسیح قمار نمی‌کنند (1 تيموتائوس 6: 17) و یا رشوه نمی‌گیرند (خروج 23: 8). پول و امکانات توسط خدا به ما داده می‌شود (1 تواریخ 29: 14-16) و ما نباید از آنها سوءاستفاده کنیم.

باید برای زندگی بهتر و خدمت به خدا از آن استفاده کنیم. به طور مشابه سلامتی و قدرت ما نیز از سوی خداست. پس کسانی که در مسیح‌اند نمی‌توانند در فعالیت‌هایی شرکت کنند که به سلامتی آنها آسیب زده و یا زندگی عزیزانشان را تحت تأثیر می‌گذارد. پس برای مثال از سیگار کشیدن، نوشیدن الکل و زیاده روی در آن و مصرف مواد مخدر باید دوری کنند. کسانی که درگیر این اتفاقات هستند می‌دانند که ترک آن تا چه اندازه سخت است. اما با عزمی ‌راسخ و کمک گرفتن از عیسی مسیح می‌توان آن را بدست آورد. زمان نیز توسط خدا به ما داده شده است و باید به درستی از آن استفاده شود (افسسیان 5: 16). پولس می‌گوید:

“he (Christ) died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised” (2 Corinthians 5:15).

Help from the Lord Jesus

​

The new life is a challenge but the Lord Jesus is our guide through life as well as being our Saviour through whom our sins are forgiven. He will help us on the way and we will never be left to struggle alone. He will present the prayers of true disciples to God. In this way the Lord Jesus will share our life, with all its joys and sorrows, and help to prepare us to live with him in God’s kingdom.

مسیح، راهنمای ما

زندگی تازه یک چالش بزرگ است. اما مسیح راهنمای ما در طول آن خواهد بود. همانطور که او نجات‌دهنده ما بود و به واسطه او گناهانمان بخشیده شد. او همراه ماست و هرگز نمی‌گذارد تنها به سراغ مشکلات برویم. او دعای ایمانداران واقعی را به درگاه خدا می‌برد و اینگونه در زندگی ما سهیم خواهد بود و در تمامی ‌غم‌ها و شادی‌های ما خواهد بود و ما را برای زندگی با او در پادشاهی خدا آماده می‌کند.

Living the new life in Christ means:

​

• reading God’s Word every day

​

• praying to God and praising Him and His Son

​

• remembering the death of Jesus through bread and wine

​

• following the example of Jesus so that we:

​

• love our brothers and sisters in Christ
• are considerate to other people and help them whenever we can, particularly by preaching the Gospel
• do not take part in the ungodly activities of the world
• above all else, love God with all our being.
