Example 1

1. Choose two numbers from the same column of the table and create a fraction.

2. Make the root index the same as the number at the top of the column.

3. Choose a power.

4. Write the term in its simplest form so you can check the terms in your chain.

5. Create a chain by using a rule to change the fractional index (e.g., divide by 2).
