  • Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI): a statewide transfer agreement, which is transferable among more than 100 participating colleges and universities.
  • If students are planning to attend an institution outside of Illinois, then families are highly encouraged to talk directly with those schools

  • Students choose a program of study
  • Each program includes 8-10 courses from the Associate in Applied Science degree
  • Students may earn a total of 24+ credits. Not all credits may transfer to a 4-year institution. These programs are intended to help students complete a specified career-technical discipline
  • Courses are limited and have been pre-selected by ECC and school district
  • Students may use these courses to fulfill specific high school graduation requirements

  • Courses are at Elgin Community College
  • Students enroll in 1-2 courses each semester
  • Students may earn a total of 24+ transferable credits
  • Students choose courses based on academic interests and goals
  • Courses are limited and have been pre-selected by ECC and school district
  • Courses fulfill part of the General Education Core Curriculum at ECC
  • Students may use these courses to fulfill specific high school graduation requirements

  • Students enroll in 4-5 courses each semester
  • Summer courses may be required between junior and senior year
  • Students complete COL 101-Student Success during the 1st semester
  • Students may earn a total of 60+ transferable credits (AA/AS degree only)
  • ECC academic advisor assigned for the entirety of the program.
  • Students complete courses at ECC campus
  • Students may continue their participation in high school activities
