Stan’s Pirate Ship Challenge

Stan the Stuntman is making a movie of the book Meet the McKaws and he needs a pirate ship that can float across the ocean (the sink or tub) even when there are some waves, and that can hold him and Tiny and as much treasure as possible.

Make a boat out of materials you have around the house, for example: aluminum foil, modeling clay, styrofoam, cardboard, plastic packaging etc.

Test it in the sink or in a tub to make sure it can float across without tipping over even when you are making some waves.

If you do not have any Lego figures, draw a picture of Stan and Tiny and put in the boat.

Add treasure (coins, marbles, rocks or other small weights) a little at a time until it can’t float anymore.

My boat was made out of the bottom of a soda bottle, a piece of foam, popsicle stick, a piece of paper, I used Krazy Glue to keep flag pole on.

My boat can hold 40 pennies. It sank with 41 pennies.
