Session Description

This hands-on session will cover in depth how to manage a local NCEES PSU PD Office within NCEES. Learn how to create all types of Learning Opportunities and award CEUs to your staff. This session will also cover the Attendance Mobile App, PD Playlists, and Transfer Credit Manager to allow staff to submit credit earned outside of NCEES for approval.

PD Office - Roles

  • PD Office Administrator: This is an office-level role with access to administer PD functions for the assigned office only. Functions include creating and managing courses without approval, verifying certificates, managing recurring dates, and managing office-level roles.
  • Course Requester - This is an office-level role responsible for creating courses and corresponding sections. If an approval process is enforced, a submission by a Course Requester is sent to the Course Reviewer / Approver.
  • Final Approver - This is an office-level role responsible for the final review of submitted courses and sections. This role has the ability to give final approval so the course becomes visible in the catalog. This role also has the ability to return the course to the Course Requester if changes need to be made.

NOTE: if assigning a Course Requester role there �must also be an assigned Final Approver role.

Transfer Credit Manager: My Requests

Teachers, Support Staff and principals can go to Transfer Credit Manager in NCEES and submit credit requests or re-submit requests that were denied. Staff can request credit for a course completed elsewhere be added to their NCEES staff transcript.

Districts wishing to have staff enter credit requests this way, must open a support ticket to DPI to set rights for someone to be Credit Approver or the requests will sit in limbo.

Transfer Credit Manager for AdministratorsPrimary Audience: LEA or Charter Professional Development Leads

Purpose of Document: This guide outlines the process for entering and managing staff requests for CEUs to appear on the NCEES staff transcript.�

Transfer Credit Manager Activities:

• Manage Requests – Admins view all submitted, approved, or denied requests. Credit Approvers access credit requests which require approval from this screen. Note: Requests show statewide – Add a location filter when managing requests.

• Manage Bulk Requests – Admins create a credit request for multiple users.

• My Requests – Enabled for staff, staff can request credit for a course or learning opportunity completed elsewhere be added to a staff transcript.

• New Credit Request for Another User – admins enter a credit request for staff.

Configure Emails – DO NOT USE – DPI USE ONLY. These settings are statewide.

• Approval Request Administration – Admins review the status of requests and approvers. Identify which requests need further attention.
