What is Imperialism?

Takeover of a country or territory by a stronger nation.

controlling the politics and/or economy of another place/nation/people.

in order to acquire or maintain an empire.

The causes of Imperialism.

Economic-wanted to become rich from foreign minerals,labor, and crops.

Religious- wanted to convert people to christianity to save their souls.

Ideological- felt they had the right duty to bring their culture and beliefs.

Political-the more countries a nation controlled the more powerful they were.

Exploratory-wanted to discover new lands.

The three diffrent way for imperialized people to respond?

-They can respond with violence.

To place an action

- They can respond with acceptance.

to deal with it and accept it

-and they can respond with nonviolence.

to protest, use strikes , boycotts

I think the best way for imperialized people to respond is?

-The best way for imperialized people to respond is through nonviolence.

You shouldn't have to hurt people to get what you want, if you act in violence it will just create more problems. Nonviolence is also very effective.

Respond to imperialism through violence,acceptance,and nonviolence.

Indians responded in violence, when they refused to accept the cartridges led to the rebellion.British took it badly.

Indians responded in acceptance when they agreed to work with the british.

Indians responded in nonviolence when Gandhi wanted people to come to the speech about nonviolence.

For example ghana around the 1940's was under british control but let them speak when they want about the government they used strikes and boycotts instead of violence until they were free of british rule in 1957. (Encyclopedia Britannica).
