Rules: Significant Changes

  • Duration of periods/ice times (section 2)
    • U10/FUN3, U12 and U14 will play 2 18-minute halves; ice time is 1 hour
    • U16, U19, Open A/B and Masters will play 2 20-minute halves; ice time is 1.25 hours
    • Finals are extended to 1.5 hrs to accommodate OT as required, medal presentations, and Remembrance Day observance (for games starting or in progress at 11AM on Tuesday the 11th)
  • U12 Tiering
    • First year with U12 Tiering; rosters set very late – expect some mismatches
    • Ringette BC rules dictate there is no 3-goal maximum for U12A
    • Remember that fun is the objective in Jamboree play!

Rules: Team Responsibilities (section 3.14)

  • Home Team provides Shot Clock operator and Scorekeeper
  • Visiting Team provides Time Clock Operator
  • Semi Finals and Finals will have paid shot clock operators
  • Bench staff need to sign the scoresheet 30 minutes ahead
  • Scorekeeper is responsible for picking up the game sheet 10 minutes before game time from the tournament table and dropping off the completed sheet at the end of the game
    • RBRC: League office (second floor multipurpose room)
    • BCSC: Lower (ice-level) lobby
    • KEN, MPA: Small arenas – you’ll find it
    • QPA: Front lobby

Rules: Reminders

  • All bench staff must have signed the Coaches Code of Conduct (https://ringettebc.ca)
  • Zero tolerance for abuse of officials – referees, timekeepers, scorekeepers
    • remind your parents/fans of the Spectator Code of Conduct
  • No air horns!

Remembrance Day Ceremony

  • Remembrance Day ceremony and a two minute moment of silence will be observed at all active rinks at 11AM
  • 5 games will be affected; all have been allocated extra time
    • 4th vs 4th Consolation – Open B (BCSC)
    • SWRRA vs NWVRA – U12B (KEN)
    • Final – U14 AG (RBRC-A)
    • Final – Masters (RBRC-B)
    • DRA U10 vs FVRA Ring Pops – U10/FUN3 (QPA)
  • Games scheduled to start at 11AM will be delayed for the ceremony
  • Games in progress will be briefly suspended for the ceremony

First Aid

  • Teams are responsible for having bench kits and designated first aid attendants to handle minor on-ice injuries
  • There will be a supplementary first aid kit in the tournament office at Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre – second floor multi-purpose room
  • Report any significant first aid incidents to the league office at Rosemary Brown. DO NOT REPORT FIRST AID ISSUES TO THE FACILITY STAFF AT THE LOBBY DESK. If you are playing at a satellite venue please email bnwrtournament@gmail.com
  • If there is a need for emergency services, please note that cell reception is very bad at Rosemary Brown – you will need to go to the front door to reliably call 9-1-1. Also inform the league office so they can coordinate emergency personnel when they arrive.
