Here at ECDC we recognize that all young children are language learners and we work with our Speech and Language Pathologists to support all students!

Moving to Learn

Physical Therapy, Dr. Joanne MacNeil

Provides consultation and support to ensure students can move freely and confidently around our school, using the playground, motor room and more!

Occupational Therapy, Sandra Wong, OT

Provides consultation, specialized instruction for fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing and more!

Music, Movement and Yoga!

All of our classroom teachers incorporate Music, Movement and even Yoga into their school day!

Outdoor Spaces

We have several outdoor spaces where students can play and explore! We even have a new fenced in outdoor classroom area!

Nursing and Wellness

  • Suzanne Roma, RN, full time at ECDC
  • Provides nurturing nursing care to all students
  • Conducts lessons on handwashing, allergy awareness and more
  • Develops Health Care plans with families for students with complex or significant medical concerns

Special Education, Sarah Martin, Team Chair

  • All our ECDC teachers are special educators as well as early childhood specialists
  • Our teachers know and understand child development and provide families with coaching and support to help each child shine
  • We conduct special education evaluations and develop IEPs, if necessary
  • We conduct SCREENINGS for all students when they enter ECDC
  • We offer free developmental screenings for children between 3 and 5 years old

Parent Connections

  • Parent Communication Council
    • Our PCC meets monthly and fund raises to support programs like Barn Babies and Pumpernickel Puppets
    • PCC members volunteer to facilitate play groups on no school days and to help with teacher prep

    • We work with families to find ways for parents to

Community Engagement

Here is SOME of what we offer:

Senior Ambassadors: provides an opportunity for multi generational connections

Best Buddies: Middle school Best Buddies are assigned to classrooms and become part of the classroom community

FHS Early Childhood Class: Partner with FHS students interested in a career in early childhood and/or special education

Self Help CFCE: Provide family fun and parent training

Local FPD, FFD: join us at our Fun Fair, during our Community Helpers unit and more

FPS Food Services: “Cooking with Colin”

Frequently Asked Questions...

  • Do students have to be potty trained to attend ECDC?
    • No. Although we encourage it, and support you in helping your little one train, we do not require it.
  • Do you have a cafeteria for Snack/Lunch?
    • No, but watch this video to learn more!
  • Do you provide transportation?
    • Although we do have some students who are transported on public school vans, this is only available for students through requiring Special Education Services.
  • Do you offer after school care?
    • At this time we do not. We are a part day pre-kindergarten program operating on the public school calendar.
