1. Go for a walk (on a trail or in your neighborhood)

a. Take a walk everyday. Get some fresh air. The goal is to observe nature. Look for:

1. different kinds of birds (download a bird app -personally, I use Audubon),

2. different kinds of animal tracks

3. evidence of weathering and erosion.

b. My point is… get outside and enjoy nature. Look for stuff we have talked about in class.

Estimation activity: Get outside and estimate walking distances. Use a phone and walk to a destination (another house), how accurate is the phones walking time estimate? Run home and time yourself. Choose another house. Looking at the suggested walking time, see if you can estimate what your run time would be there.

Weather not cooperating? Estimate the size of objects and then use a tape measure to check your estimate. Create a document of these objects and get someone in your house to estimate. Check their answers.
