2x2 Prioritization Matrix — WORKSHEET

This worksheet helps you evaluate and prioritize tasks based on their effort and value, ensuring you focus on the most impactful work.

Step 1: List your tasks — In the TASK column, write down the specific tasks or projects you need to evaluate.

Step 2: Assess the effort required — In the EFFORT column, rate how much effort the task requires:

    • Low ( 🔵) – Quick, easy, minimal resources
    • Medium ( 🟡) – Requires moderate effort or coordination
    • High ( 🔴) – Time-consuming, complex, or resource-heavy

Step 3: Assess the value of the task — In the VALUE column, rate how much impact or benefit the task provides:

    • Low ( 🔴) – Minimal impact, not critical
    • Medium ( 🟡) – Some impact, useful but not urgent
    • High ( 🟢) – Significant impact, drives key goals

Step 4: Determine priority rank — Based on effort vs. value, assign a PRIORITY RANK:

    • High Value + Low Effort → 🚀 Top priority (Do these first!)
    • High Value + High Effort → ⏳ Plan strategically (Break into smaller steps)
    • Low Value + Low Effort → 🤔 Optional (Consider doing later)
    • Low Value + High Effort → ❌ Deprioritize (May not be worth it)

Step 5: Take action — Use this prioritization to focus on high-impact, low-effort tasks first, then tackle bigger projects with a strategic approach.
