How do students use it?

What is SmartPass?

  • SmartPass is an electronic hall pass. You can find it on Clever.
  • You will create passes and your teachers will accept the pass to allow you to leave the classroom.

  • Every single time you leave the classroom, you MUST have a smart pass created.
    • This means for the bathroom, for water, for the nurse, for the front office, for the counselor. EVERYTHING.

How to Create a pass:

  1. Go to “create pass”
  2. Next you will want to fill out the information for your pass by selecting where you are leaving from, where you are going to, and adjust the time needed.
    1. The room you are starting in may be pre-filled for you. If so, fill in the remaining information.

Scheduling a Pass in Advance

  1. Going to the nurse or the counselor, you can schedule a pass in advance and have your teacher approve it.

  • Examples for this:
    1. Taking a medication at a certain time.
    2. Going to the counselor at a specific time after a teacher or counselor has told you to.

Ending a Pass

  1. Be sure that you ALWAYS press “end pass” when you come back from class.

​

  • Smart pass tracks the time you are out. If you forget to press end, it could say you were out for hours.

​

    • The deans can pull all of this information up.
