• IEEE Foundation student scholarship fund update – ComSoc Chair and SAC (Hamid): Magreth suggested establishing a deadline and distributing the link more widely among university students. Hamid planned to increase the requested funding to $3,000 to award two students (from A&T and UNCG) $1,500 each, citing that the foundation was supportive since the fund had been unused for several years . Hamid was preparing an email to the Chair and Treasurer to confirm which documents (flights, lodging, local transportation, food receipts) the students should collect for reimbursement,
• 2025 Awards Volunteers – Chair (Abhinav): Susanne and Ratna Chada helping with Awards preparation.
• Publish Award Winners – Secretary (Susanne): We currently have no newsletter but often use LinkedIn.
• Awards Banquet Onsite – Secretary (Susanne): We need to visit the site and need a registration table outside the room.
• Publish Banquet Event – Volunteer, Secretary (Megha, Susanne): Registration is full but LinkedIn visibility still helpful.
• RAS Vice Chair – Chair (Aaron): Uman Ahmed Mohammed volunteered as vice chair.
• Signal Processing Chapter (SP) Activity – Chair (Bhupendra): SP needs activity in VTools; Ajay Kumar volunteered for vice-chair.
• Quorum for Member Approvals – Secretary (Susanne): Placed member approvals earlier on the agenda.
• Website Updates – Webmaster (Aniketh): Senior membership is updated. Aniketh needs assistance.
• Society Member lists – Chairs: Chairs use OU Analytics; remove those with "NO" for contact. Steps in October slide deck.
• ENCS Logo – Chair (Magreth): Magreth will work on creating a higher quality version.

• Update:
• Event Planning: Organizing an IEEE Student Summit for the fall semester, hosted at Duke University. The event aims to foster collaboration among student branches, with ongoing discussions already underway with several participating branches.

Student Activities Chair (SAC) – Sneha

• Update
• Created a flyer for the ComSoc student travel grant and formulated the questions for applicants to submit. Need to follow up with ComSoc chair on the release of the call for applications.

Next steps

• Publish the student travel grant and discuss how to the interested students apply for the grant
• Obtain the ENCS logo for the flyer
• Discuss with the Duke IEEE President to help schedule a event with NCSU IEEE student chapter

• IEEE Synergy Summit - NC State August 29th 2025 ( I was part of the event . We had participants from Affinity Group)

Industrial Electronics Society Chapter – Skieler Capezza / Vignesh

• Major achievements
• Fireside chat with founder of Sigmantic AI: August 22nd - More than 75 participants attended the event.
• Conducted a virtual event to discuss the current startup trend with the founders of Sigmantic AI –They were fresh UC Berkeley grads who landed Y Combinator backing for their AI-powered hardware verification platform.
• The interview covered the below topics:

🔹 Tackling tough RTL problems right out of school

🔹 The tech + innovation behind AI-driven hardware tools

🔹 What it’s really like to get into Y Combinator

🔹 Jumping from research to startup life in semiconductors

• Technical talk on Resume Building as a part of IEEE Synergy summit held at NC State on August 29th. ~50 students participated. ��

• Petitioned and Established in February, 2025
• Applied and received annual budget through IEEE MagSoc. $1800
• Hosted the 1st Distinguished Lecture jointly with IEEE Sensor council.
• Special seminar series started, 1st one at NCSU, 2nd one at UNC, two more coming, one Duke, one NCSU.
• Started MagSoc NC Chapter young investigator award and Achievement Award.
