  • Unit 1 : Body Systems and the effects of physical activity [DMN]
  • Assessment Format : Written exam paper in Summer of Y1 (retake available)
  • • comprises multiple-choice, short answer questions and questions requiring more extended responses (1 and a half hour paper)
  • HAVE TO ACHIEVE A PASS ON THE EXAM TO CONTINUE ON THE COURSE
  • ALL REVISION RESOURCES WILL BE SHARED WITH PARENTS ON A REGULAR BASIS

GRADING CRITERIA FOR INTERNALLY ASSESSED UNITS

  • Each assignment has a vocational context
  • Every assignment has a series of grading criteria (PASS, MERIT, DISTINCTION)
  • Students are assessed against the criteria
  • EG P1 Describe the roles and responsibilities of sports coaches and activity leaders
  • M2 Evaluate the effectiveness of different methods of measuring improvement in skills, techniques and tactics
  • D2 Deliver a series of sports/activity sessions where the participants’ progression and needs are continuously evaluated and sessions are adapted accordingly
  • MUST HIT ALL OF GRADING CRITERIA TO ACHIEVE OVERALL GRADE

L3 EXTENDED CERTIFICATE IN SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

  • Students must complete and pass all units
  • Overall certification depends on the grading achieved in each unit
  • Some guidance
  • 1. Make sure the students keep up to date with all assignment tasks
  • 2. VITAL students prepare thoroughly for externally assessed examination units
  • 2. Use the feedback provided – must be familiar with GOOGLE CLASSROOM
  • 3. Make sure students are fully familiar with grading criteria
  • 4. Students need to continue playing sport (will be assessed on one team and one individual sport)
  • 5. Students need to develop experience of coaching
  • 6. Attend after school VOCATIONAL SUPPORT CLASS where required
