Be the expert

-Know where and how materials can be obtained. ����� -Be proactive – take the initiative and collaborate with your unit staff officers to prepare for upcoming training, outreach, RBS activities and events. Think outside the box. � -DSOs and SOs – communicate with your staff frequently and� share updates and solicit feedback. �� -Keep your unit Staff Officers and Leaders up to date on the� available resources, and policy changes.

DSO-MA Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise staff responsibility and supervision over the procurement of materials.�
  • Mentor, communicate and maintain close liaison with the National Staff, the Division, and Flotilla Materials Staff Officers.
  • Advise all concerned of any changes or updates to the publications and forms. �
  • The DSO-MA is to order material for District leadership as requested.

  • The Auxiliary National Supply Center Catalog contains a descriptive listing of each item, as well as order forms to be used by District, division, and flotilla materials staff officers (DSO-MA, SO-MA, and FSO-MA). �
  • Members or officers needing materials from the catalog should contact the appropriate materials officer at their level.�
  • Only Materials Officers, FC, DCDR, DCO, and DIRAUX staff are authorized to place orders for ANSC materials.

  • The Auxiliary National Supply Center (ANSC) is the central distribution point for all Auxiliary manuals, guides, forms, boating safety pamphlets, flyers, posters, and mailing supplies.��Each of these items carries an "ANSC" stock number, which identifies it as part of a "series". For example, all forms in series "7000", leads to the many on-line forms. It also contains a few orderable forms such as the 7012, 7012a, VSC, and Paddle Craft forms.

ANSC fillable pdf order form for supplies is available for use.

Currently located on the W-Materials web page under the Materials Officers section under Forms.

This order form is to be used only for those Auxiliarists that are approved to order materials (MAs, FCs, DCDRs and DCOs).

The ANSC form will be updated as needed.

If an item is not in stock it will need to be reordered.

Grant based items change routinely and may show delays until new grants are issued.

1. Acquire the order form from the W- Materials webpage under Material Officers and Forms.

2. Download and save the form to your Desktop and then OPEN the downloaded form with Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

3. Fill in Header information

  • Your Office – for example FSO-MA
  • Flotilla info for example– 054-24-08
  • Your name and address, etc.

4. Choose your item by clicking in the empty Stock # column ( light blue).

5. Scroll down to the item you want and click on it.

  • Item #, Description and Maximum will auto fill.

6. Enter the number of copies you want.

  • If the request exceeds the maximum; it will ask you to justify the request in the justification box below.
  • To erase an item: Click on the item in the Stock # column click the blank space above the first item listed in the drop-down box (item 3000).

Reminder:

  • Postal orders- stamps, envelopes etc. are to be placed as a separate order.
  • Only MA staff officers and leadership is authorized to submit Material orders. 
  • Header information can be saved for the next order by clicking the red button on the right RESET order area
  • Clicking RESET entire form will give you a new blank form
