Portal Decommissioning

April 17, 2025: Software freeze on portal cluster. New unix accounts created from now on will not be able to submit jobs on the portal cluster.

May 20th, 2025: Removing some of the oldest nodes. The 6 or more different types of nodes on the portal cluster will be reduced to 80 compute nodes of two uniform types.

June 17th, 2025: Access will be limited to users who are critical to NSTX-U operation. Access requests for users need to be approved by Stan Kaye.

September 16th, 2025: network access to the portal cluster will be limited to connections coming from the flux cluster and the Nomachine/NX systems.

December 9th, 2025: fully decommissioned.
