WWII Veterans
After more than 60 years of activism, Congress included Filipino WWII veterans benefits in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Less than 10% of USAFFE service members qualified for these benefits.
In 2017, Filipino WWII Veterans were recognized with the Congressional Gold Medal (CGM). About 2,500 of about 200,000 service members were still alive to be recognized.
