An Overview of the Working Group: Aims and your initial thoughts

About the RDA-OfRWorking Group

Challenges of managing multi-omics data
Sensitive data, privacy and ethical data sharing
Lack of diverse datasets for human Omics (GWAS)
Lack of ontologies and controlled vocabularies across disciplines to enable synchronous metadata
Lack of clear standards and best practices for data management (formats) and sharing (bioinformatics and in silico)
Lack of integrated / linked repositories
Different methodologies and data formats across disciplines
Data volume (managing, analysing big, complex datasets)
Lack of compute resources
Fragmented standards across Omics disciplines
Lack of / incomplete metadata hindering reproducibility
Lack of awareness, training and capacity-building pipelines
Varying fragmented standards = challenge to integrate across Omics disciplines
Lack of publicly available tools for integrated analysis
Your ideas for the scope of this WG
2. METADATA STANDARDS FOR MULTIOMICS DATA
Your ideas for the scope of this WG
Collecting use cases from various -omics domains and identifying standards/best practices across them to identify metadata standards that could link across -omics domains –
leading to the deliverable of a metadata schema standard reporting template
