Chapter 31

The fall of Saul

5 of 7

“David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day… seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit…”

Peter in Acts 2:29-33

The fall of Saul is the fall of us all

Are you a friend of

the coming King?

David points us to Jesus!

“Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David... ‘do not ever cut off your kindness from my family.’”

“David... bowed down before Jonathan three times, with his face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together – but David wept the most. Jonathan said to David, ‘Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord.”

Lord God, I know that Jesus is the king.

I’m sorry for not following him.

Thank you that he died and rose again. I’m giving my life to him now. Lord Jesus, please take me as your friend. Amen.

“Whoever comes to me I will never drive away... everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
