A Typical Day For a 8th Grader

Students are to enter through the main entrance between 8:15 and 8:40.

Students are to report to their homeroom by 8:40, if not, students will be marked late. Students who are late 3 times will be given ICE by their homeroom teacher.

Once students arrive they are to go directly upstairs to their homeroom. Upon arrival at their homeroom, students are expected to go to their lockers for their morning classes (Periods 1- 5).

Students are then expected to go to their homeroom for breakfast and morning exercises.

After morning exercises, the students go through their morning routine.

Period 6 is lunch for the 8th grade. In lunch, students are expected to stay in their seats, with their homeroom, for safety reasons.

After lunch, students finish out their day with periods 7-9.

Expectations

  • Be on time and prepared for all classes.
  • Do not ask to use the restroom as soon as you walk into the classroom.
  • Be mindful of homework and due dates. Late policies will be strictly adhered to.
  • Students need to ask questions when they don’t understand something.
  • Chromebooks: Students are expected to use their school issued chromebook device each day. Students who opt to bring their device to and from school are expected to have their device fully charged upon entering the building.
  • Cell Phones: Students are allowed to carry their cell phones with them, however, cell phones should be turned off and not visible throughout the day. In case of an emergency, your student will be allowed to call you under the guidance of a teacher, or the main office.
  • Behavior: All students are expected to respect the rules and regulations set forth by WSMCS and The Bayonne Board of Education. Failing to comply may result in exclusion from some activities and school initiatives.
