  • Built 6 DOF robot arm with servos and other parts

  • Building and knowing where the pieces go

  • Servos overloaded Arduino; added a delay between reading data and moving it
  • Power from USB port wasn’t strong enough; added 7.5V power supply

  • “516 Broken Pipe”; losing Bluetooth connection (added delays in Arduino code)

Challenges:

  • Learning to use a new tool (SketchUp) to make 3D models. First time doing 3D modeling
  • Making and fixing the circuits for the house (mainly the sound circuit)

  • My project name is Mini House with circuits
  • In this 3D printed house I have included a LED light and a motor fan. I designed the 3D house and made both the circuits.
  • I chose this project because I liked hardware electronics and it would also be a cool twist to a normal toy house

  • Make rooms in the house and move fan to a room

  • In order for me to make this I first had to come up with how I wanted to build this
  • Once I came up with an idea me and my mentor prototyped in several different ways

Snap Circuits

Snap Circuits is a electronics kit for kids to learn about some basic circuits and how to make the different circuits.

  • The basics of what I learned using this is what a circuit is and what is inside a circuit
  • I used the snap circuits to prototype my circuits needed for my final project

Sketchup

  • SketchUp is a tool used to create 3D models
  • I used this for prototyping and for making the final model
  • While using this tool, I had to watch videos/tutorials on how to do something
  • From this I learned how to make models and that you can use SketchUp for many things

  • Identifying where the stars are in a globular cluster
    • Observed with the Hubble Space Telescope
  • Making a table with all the values of brightness and location
  • Taking the points from above and plotting them onto a graph
