  • Progress has continued on the VM Limits CHIP with additional testing

  • Proposal has been changed from “Raise max number to 248 bytes” to “Remove any number limit” as it’s now accounted for by the 10 000 byte maximum stack limit
  • Tests have also been added extensively here too
  • There has also been additional scrutiny of whether this creates either implementation hassles or edge cases (potentially large amount of work) for other non C++ implementations

CHIP Process

  • Big Big Ints has been heavily discussed for its place in the CHIP process
  • Arrived “late” if measured from the official CHIP date but is more an offshoot of existing work
    • Is this rushing things & creating tech risk?
    • How does it look to outside observers? Does it risk credibility?
  • The CHIP process is an evolving thing & the community is learning about its strengths, weaknesses & limits through experience
    • The intent of preventing a split seems to have been fulfilled
