The Celebration of Taiwanese American Heritage in NYC

Passport to Taiwan is the longest running, most attended Taiwanese event in the USA. For the past decade, it has been held at the city center of Union Square with over 30,000 visitors came to the festival annually, making it the longest running and the largest Asian American event in NYC.
The event brings stage performances, street delicacies, arts & crafts, organizational involvements to New Yorkers. As the festival enters its 24th year, it is bringing closer connections between Taiwan and the US.
The festival provides a platform to allow everyone to experience Taiwan and also learn about Taiwanese American immigration to the US.

Official Designation by the Congress and NYC
Taiwanese American Heritage Week is an official designation from the United States Congress in 1999. Passport to Taiwan Festival is the event to celebrate the week. The same designation was also awarded in 2003 by NYC Council. In 2009, NYC declared the date of the festival as “Passport to Taiwan day”.

Increases diversity and awareness
The festival serves as a platform for New Yorker to get to know Taiwan. Each year, groups from Taiwan come to share beautiful culture from the island country.
