It’s Your Final!

2 of 3

From the front table, grab . . .

  • 1 page to annotate from the FALL semester pile.
  • 1 page to annotate from the SPRING semester pile.
  • 1 large piece of blank paper.
  • Several pieces of tape.
  • As many colored pencils as you’d like to use as you annotate.

Then tape the pages you’ll annotate to the front and back of your blank paper, arranging them so you have room to annotate in the margins.

3 of 3

  • Use your list of literary terms, as well as any notes you’d like, to annotate each page-length excerpt from a book we read this year.
  • To annotate, circle, box, or underline a portion of the text. Draw an arrow to the margin, note the term you identify within the text, and analyze that portion of the text.
  • Apart from annotating for literary terms, add notes in the margins that demonstrate your understanding of concepts, genres, “How to Read Literature Like a Professor,” etc. from this year of English.
  • There are extra lit terms lists on the front table.
