LSC Member Training Update

  • C7- Internal Accounts and C4-Budget course trainings are available
  • Last Course Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP) - Available February
  • Members should have completed courses 1-LSC Member Responsibilities, 2-Effective Meetings, 5-Principal Selection, 6-Principal Evaluation, 8-Ethics, and 9-LSC Officer Duties.
  • LSC Members are reminded to visit the LSC Website ( LSC Training Page ) to register to listen to recorded training. Must view the ENTIRE course for credit. Please allow two weeks after completion for the issuance of confirmation emails for on-demand training.
  • After completing the training, the LSC office will update the LSC Dashboard to reflect which members have taken the training and send a confirmation of training email.

Student Elections

CPS Students in grades 6 and above may submit paperwork for their candidacy to be a member of the Local School Council for the NEXT SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024. Current student LSC members may run again for another term!

  • The candidate nomination period begins January 23, 2023 - February .
  • Nomination forms will be available online and in the school’s main office.
  • Student LSC Election Period: February 6 to February 10, 2023
  • The term begins July 1, 2023 and ends June 30, 2024 or after the student graduates.

The nomination period closes February 3, 2023! HERE is a promotional video on the importance of student representation on Local School Councils.

  • OLSCR will set and publicize date of the Geographic Section Candidate Forum (to be held between 2/2/2023 and 2/10/2023)

  • Candidates distribute their campaign literature (during candidate forum, candidates can request that principals and LSC members in your Geographic Section to Candidate distribute literature at LSC meetings).

  • LSC members vote by picking up a ballot and privacy envelope from the principal.

  • Vote for 1 candidate on the ballot by placing an “X” in the box to the left of the candidate they want to select.

  • Return the voted ballot in the privacy envelope to the principal and sign the Voter Verification Sheet.
