A student has come out to you as non-binary. What classroom practices have you implemented and what might you change to ensure that the student feels included in the class?

Non-binary (adj) : denoting, having, or relating to a gender identity that does not conform to traditional binary beliefs about gender, which indicate that all individuals are exclusively either male or female

You’ve noticed a student making comments that are subtly homophobic and transphobic, which are making their classmates and you uncomfortable. You’re unsure if this student realizes what they are saying is hurtful or not. What might you do?
