Welcome to an exciting and much more NORMAL school year! After last year, no matter what this new year brings, I think I can say with confidence that we at Pierce Park have “Got this!” We will continue to show our Panther perseverance!

Please pay attention to the slide that explains student drop off and pick up.

Mitigation Strategies

We have been and will continue to use the following mitigation strategies:

  • Wearing Facing Coverings
  • Physical Distancing
  • Hand Hygiene
  • Cleansing and Disinfecting
  • Contact Tracing in Collaboration with CDH

Pierce Park’s Overall Strategies

  • Hand sanitizer will be available in classrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
  • Face coverings that completely cover the person's nose and mouth are required for all students and staff while in the building. Masks are not needed outside, as long as physical distancing is maintained.
  • Handwashing stations will be available throughout the school and in classrooms.
  • Parents and guardians will monitor their child’s health before allowing them to come to school. Self-Screening Procedures

Before and After School

To avoid congestion in the parking lot and blocking Pierce Park Lane please adhere to the following schedule:

If you are eating breakfast arrive at 8:20.

Upon arrival students will wait in their line.

Student/s with the last names A-L will arrive between 8:25-8:30 and be picked up between 3:15-3:20 area.

Student/s with the last names M-Z will arrive between 8:30-8:35 and be picked up between 3:20-3:25.

Classroom Overall Strategies

While our teachers and staff continue to foster the love of learning the following protocols will help continue to keep our students safe:

  • Eliminate spaces where students can gather in groups.
  • Ensure that students do not share supplies by maintaining personal supplies in desks.
  • Distancing students in the classroom and creating safe individual work spaces.
  • Protocols for disinfecting spaces and hands have been established.
  • If teachers allow snacks they can not be shared.
  • No class treats.

Lunchroom and Recess Strategies

Socializing and being active is important to the wellness of our students, the following protocols will be followed to support a safe, healthy and active environment:

  • Hand sanitizing will be available upon entering the cafeteria, and students will be seated allowing for physical distancing.
  • Seating charts established to help with contact tracing.
  • Grade levels are able to play with each other in assigned zones.
  • Mask are not required outside as long as physical distancing is maintained.

Volunteering

Individual teachers may set up volunteering opportunities. These opportunities are prearranged by the teacher. Mrs. Jones, the school secretary, is made aware of the dates and times. Volunteers will follow our safety protocol by wearing a face covering, sanitizing and maintaining physical distancing to the greatest extent possible.
