10F.4: Example #1

Improving Parental Communication

The annual evaluation also revealed that parents felt communication from the program was sporadic and lacked sufficient detail about their children's academic and developmental progress.

Action Taken: To address this issue, the program implemented a new communication policy that involved weekly updates through a parent portal app, which included “glow” and “grow” method that provided a brief report of the child's progress for the week and what the child is still working on. Additionally, the program began hosting quarterly parent-teacher meetings instead of biannual ones to discuss children's progress and address any concerns in a more timely fashion.

These changes led to increased parental satisfaction as reflected in follow-up, with parents appreciating the more frequent and detailed updates on their children's activities and development.
