“Each brushstroke is a whisper of my past, a reflection of my present, and an encounter with my essence

Norma Nahua

On the Balcony of the Huasteca, I was born in a Nahua community in Chicontepec, Veracruz, Mexico, where tradition and beauty intertwine in every corner. From childhood, a visionary teacher recognized my passion for art and encouraged me to express myself through color and drawing. However, it wasn't until I was 11 years old that I discovered painting.

Although my academic path led me to Food Science and Technology Engineering, my true calling has always been art. At 19, I presented my first solo exhibition at the Veracruz Cultural Week, marking the beginning of my artistic career.

My art is a reflection of my essence, a journey of self-discovery and healing. The vibrant colors and textures of my grandmothers' clothing, wildflowers, and the landscapes of my childhood merge in my works, created with acrylic paint. Each brushstroke is a step toward myself, an attempt to capture the beauty and richness of my cultural heritage.

With each piece, I seek to share the essence of my people and my culture.

In the silence of my solitude, I rediscover myself and connect with the divine. This connection fills me with peace and love, inspiring me to create works that spring from my very essence.
