What kinds of documents can I see on NYSCEF?

Once you find the case you’re looking for, you can see a lot! Almost all the documents from the beginning to the end of a case should appear on NYSCEF.

  • petition, notice of petition, affidavits of service
  • notices of appearance, motions, affidavits, evidence exhibits, stipulations, court orders
  • warrant requisitions, marshal’s notices, orders to show cause (OSCs)
  • … and any other document that is part of your case!

IMPORTANT!

  • Not all cases in Housing Court appear on NYSCEF. This does not mean you don’t have a case!
  • A case must be electronically filed in order for it to appear in NYSCEF. Small landlords and pro se tenants might not file electronically and the case may not be found in the system.
  • Even if the cases are filed electronically, not all documents might be immediately available, depending on how quickly they are uploaded.
  • A warrant requisition is not the same thing as a Marshal's notice. It does have the Marshal’s contact information.
