WHAT IS A ROADSHOW?

• A PLANNED TRAINING PROJECT TO REACH THE TRAINING NEEDS OF ALL FACULTY, STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION – SPECIFICALLY TRYING TO TARGET ADJUNCTS WITH TIME AND DAY
• GROUPS OF PEOPLE OR A TEAM TRAVEL TO THE TRAINEES
• IT CAN BE MODIFIED FOR PRETTY MUCH ANY LEVEL

WHY YOU NEED A ROADSHOW

• EVERYONE HAS A LOT ON THEIR PLATES
• WE NEED TO MEET OUR LEARNERS WHERE THEY ARE
• EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF IT IS NOT “TRAINING”

• CREATED SUB-COMMITTEE OF OUR STATE eLET COMMITTEE
• 9 ACTIVE MEMBERS
• SPLIT STATE INTO 4 REGIONS TO COVER 23 COLLEGES

STOP, COMMUNICATE AND LOGISTICS

• CREATE A CONSISTANT WAY TO COMMUNICATE
• START WITH CLEAR OBJECTIVES (What you want them to learn)
• CREATE AN OUTLINE FOR TRAINING (Provides consistency)
• MAKE NEW FRIENDS Contact representatives of all locations/departments that you plan to work with
• VARIETY OF METHODS OF COMMUNICATION –Email, video, gifs, twitter, canvas announcements

• CREATE A SELF-ENROLL COURSE THAT ALL FACULTY CAN COMPLETE
• PUT TONS OF RESOURCES IN IT.
• USE IT DURING F2F TRAINING

THE FUTURE….

When anything that is introduced to produce effectiveness and productivity in our profession, we all should embrace this new innovation and be ready to accept new ideas and new solutions to old problems. After all, it’s not where we have been, but where we are going is the most important philosophy to date!

Specific Negative Feedback

• I think that more time would be beneficial. It is hard to judge the amount of time necessary to answer questions. Allowing too much time is better than not allowing enough.
• Some attendees were not particularly ready for the session, and thus I learned much less than desired.
• I wish there had been someone looking over my shoulder
