Five Green Frogs

Down on the pond, where the cool water flows,�Five slippery, slimy lily pads grow.�

On each pad sits a spotted green frog,

Ready to explore each lily pad and log.

With a hop, skip, and jump, one frog croaks loud,�Then dives into the water, disappearing from the crowd.�

Four frogs remain, all basking in the sun,�Their legs stretched out, just waiting for some fun.

With a hop, skip, and jump, one frog leaps away,�Vanishing with a “Splunk” and a big splash of spray.

Three frogs remain, jumping from lily to lily,

Their voices ring with laughter, feeling carefree and so silly.

With a hop, skip, and jump, one frog exits with a cheer,�Singing “ribbit, ribbit, ribbit” before it disappears.

​

Two frogs remain, each searching for something to eat,

Their sticky tongues flick in and out, catching flies that taste so sweet.

With a hop, skip, and jump, one frog swims away,�A splash in the water, and a soft “ribbit” to end this happy day.�

One frog remains, beneath the stars that glow,

Down on the pond, where the cool water flows.
