3D printer safety

Check with staff before use

Auaha machine use only under staff supervision

Do not reach into the machine while it is operating

Check temperatures of the machine before touching the build plate or other components

Be careful when handling printed parts, �especially when removing support material!

Printing checklist

Printer: correct printer & nozzle profile used? �E.g. Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 0.4 nozzle�E.g. Bambu Lab P1S 0.4 nozzle

Filament: correct filament selected? �E.g. Generic PLA

Build plate: �Textured PEI Plate

Slicer preview: �Any warning messages?�Are there unsupported areas?�Are all details of the model produced correctly?

Select “Export plate sliced file” then click the button to save the file for printing

Loading the printer

Ask a staff member to assist with transferring the file and loading the file onto the printer.

All printers in the space are capable of wirelessly loading and overseeing printing.

Note: payment will be expected prior to printing.

Bambu Studio setup instructions

These instructions relate to setting up for slicing and 3D printing within the Auaha Makerspace.

If using your own printer at home you may need a different configuration: contact us if you need help.

Initial welcome to Bambu studio: press “Get started”

Select “Asia Pacific” region, then “next”

Recommended to uncheck option to join program

Ensure that the “Bambu Lab X1 Carbon” & “0.4mm nozzle” are selected�Other options may be deselected if desired

Additional Bambu Studio settings

Options in the setup process can be adjusted, added to or changed after the initial setup has been completed, including:

  • Adding additional printer descriptions, for slicing for other printer types
  • Adding additional filament types for printing
