STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Quinn always goes out of his way to help me out in class. He is a kind and helpful role model for kids who are struggling, and has a positive and enthusiastic attitude. I enjoy having him in art class! He always works hard on his work, which is exceptional, and even works on it outside of class time. I feel so lucky to have Quinn again in art class right before he graduates!

Brett H. - 11th Grade

Brett is a mature student that readily takes on leadership roles inside and outside of GHS classrooms. His positive mindset and winning disposition are evident in his scholarly submissions along with the admirable interpersonal skills that earn him consistent respect from his classmates when group projects are assigned. His peers have mentioned that Brett is a fantastic leader and a team player. Others in his classes have said that he is reliable and dependable. Brett is very helpful and a great resource to assist us when we are having difficulties. Overall, Brett is a model student!

Jake encompasses so many great characteristics of a successful student. He is kind and considerate to all people. Jake is polite in every situation that I have witnessed. He is hard-working and intelligent in the classroom and is helpful and dependable inside and outside of school. Jake is trustworthy and a student of high character. Having young boys of my own, you think about how they will evolve. I would be proud if they followed in his footsteps.

Mary tries her hardest on every activity and assignment that we do. She asks questions to clarify and comes in for help if needed. All of her hard work has paid off because on our last assessment, she was one of the top scorers in the class! Great job Mary!! It's a pleasure to have you in class!

Tessa is always working hard to be successful in Algebra. She plans ahead for days she might miss and will ask questions until she has a full understanding of the topics. She has been very successful all year, she has been willing to help others in class as well.

Ella K. - 12th Grade

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Ella exemplifies student citizenship. She has a passion for sharing music with others as a performer, a teacher and mentor. In choir, Ella is a patient section leader, helping those around her learn their parts. As a TA, she is a kind mentor to younger singers who learn and grow just by being around her astonishing musicianship, and in United Sound, she is a kind teacher helping her students find the joy of music that she exudes with every fiber of her being.

Emma is an excellent trumpet player. She has earned a return trip to the WSMA State Honors Program. Her solo and a duet received the highest rating and a trip to the WSMA State Solo and Ensemble Festival. Emma is also a fantastic student and leader in the classroom, who will also be the trumpet section leader this fall in the Wall of Sound.

Dillon is one of the hardest working student-athletes we have had at GHS. His humility and kindness are not overlooked and his name will be carried on for this hard work. He did a wonderful job at Rockfield Elementary volunteering recently and is a great example for the youth of the community.

Meghan could honestly be nominated for both the Academic Student of the month as well as the Citizenship student of the month! Meghan does her best to make connections between multiple complex topics through her work in Biology. She consistently turns in high-level work and expands on ideas that help, not only herself, but her peers as well. She does all of this while being a fantastic, kind, and thoughtful member of our class. Great work, Meghan!

Karel goes above and beyond in all of her work for my class, whether it be in daily homework assignments, projects, or formal essays. Her work is always excellent, and if it not up to her standard of excellence, she will continue to work until it meets those standards. She is also kind and giving, often helping out classmates when needed. I can think of no other student who deserves this honor more than her.
