About TSC

Problem

• Gap: no built-in way to easily theme an application in LabVIEW
• Modernization: making actually modern controls/indicators is hard
• Capability: theoretically capability is there through property nodes
• Usability: need it to be easy to apply, customize, and replace

Wouldn’t it be cool if this didn’t show up with a subtitle of “enhancements”?

Let’s do a bunch of reading/experimenting/coding

• Can we interpret a Material Design palette?
• It’s JSON, I can do that (thanks to JSONtext: https://www.vipm.io/package/jdp_science_jsontext/)
• Can we change colors on our UIs while running?
• For the most part yes
• Can we understand all the rules and apply them on the fly? And set up things that may not want to color? And can we do that to existing VIs?!?!?!
• Well, now you can (with some occasional roadblocks)
