Issues in the field…….

Kalika Chetarike material to be used for transacting LOs in classrooms

  • Nalikali Sections- Nalikali Cards and KC Workbooks- as directed in KC Handbooks
  • Please ensure that for ENK, Level-1 cards only will be used for Classes 1.2 and 3. Level 2 and 3 will not be used this year.
  • Bilingual Sections- Textbooks and KC Workbooks- as directed in KC Handbooks
  • In bilingual sections, Kannada will be transacted through the Kalinali Textbook and reinforced by the KC Workbook
  • Address shortage of books in schools by identifying excess supply and re-appropriating
  • Ensure understanding of the KC programme by all field functionaries to avoid confusion in classrooms
  • Plan re-orientation of teachers handling classes 1,2,3 if needed at the cluster level.

Way Forward……….

  • The District Academic Task Force to ensure effective implementation of KC through random visits, regular reviews and subsequent guidance
  • DATF will connect with taluk/cluster level functionaries every 15 days through zoom meetings to review and guide
  • FAQs will be collected and answered every 15 days at district level and sent to State level if needed
  • “Sahayavani” will be effectively executed and monitored
  • Ensure school visits by the field functionaries- Max 2 schools per day- Observe classroom transactions- engagement of children in activities to achieve identified LOs as per KC Handbook- use of workbook appropriately- give demonstrations if need be – do not only find fault, but guide appropriately
  • Ensure all 4 FAs are done and grades maintained in registers. Ensure 2 SAs are done and uploaded in SATS.

Way Forward (Cont….)

  • Document children achievements in the Child Portfolio in the suggested format
  • Give special attention to children who have not achieved FLN/LOs
  • It is not mandated to write Lesson Plans/ use textbooks – only to achieve LOs
  • Cluster Sharing Meeting- address the LOs to be addressed in that month, difficulty areas, FAQs, share innovative pedagogies
  • Dipstick studies for effectiveness of implementation and plan for 2023-24
  • DDPI(Admin) and DDPI(Dev) will update the KC implementation in their district in the face-to-face meetings every month
  • Parent-Teacher meetings to be effectively used to create awareness about the importance of achieving LOs for future learning
  • Kalika Habba- Planned at various levels- Mail suggestions if any
