Navigating Google Classroom:

Assignments

NOTE - Guardians can not join a Google Classroom. They must sit with their child when they log in to view any assignments or tasks.

Whether selecting Assigned, Missing, or Done, you can see all classes at once or select a specific class.

On the Classroom Home Page, the To-do option allows a student to see all Assigned, Missing, and Done Assignments across all Classes.

On the Classroom Home Page, every Class has a quick-access icon for direct viewing of assignments for that class, and for viewing the actual assignment material in Drive.

Once a Classroom is opened, a student can see Upcoming Assignments with Due Dates to the left of the Stream. The Classwork tab offers to view assignments by Topic, or to “View Your Work” by Assigned, Returned, or Missing.

Color shows that it is not turned in yet.

An icon that is greyed out shows that it was turned in. Clicking on the assignment will open up and show if it was turned in late, missing, still assigned, or returned / graded.

By clicking on “View Assignment,” a student can see any private comments by the teacher, a score, and the ability to resubmit if the teacher asks for changes..

Even though this assignment is “Turned In” by the student, clicking on the document will show if it is complete.

To make changes, a student would have to “Unsubmit” or have the teacher return it if it is past the due date.

Assignments with due dates can also be viewed at a quick glance in Google Calendar.

Either go straight to Google Calendar in the waffle, or use the link in the Classwork section of a Google Classroom.
