Google Meet Expectations

• Be Responsible-Turn in assignments, check emails, and attend Google Meets
• Be Respectful-Raise hand in Meets and stay on topic in chat
• Be Ready-Stay engaged, complete work during asynchronous time, be ready to turn mic on and speak
• Be Kind-Use kind words during Meets and in the chat
• Be Camera-ready-Students will be asked to have cameras on during certain times of the Meet. But at all times during the Meets except for breaks, students are required to be by their Chromebooks.

Your child is participating in READ 180, an innovative multimedia program that helps students become better readers. This strategic reading system accelerates all readers to grade-level independence by helping them to:

• Engage with a broad range of informational and literary texts.

• Think critically and evaluate complex texts.

• Strengthen comprehension, writing, listening and speaking skills.

• Develop academic and content-area vocabulary

Everyday, we will have:

• Whole Group Lesson
• Work in the Real Book
• 3 Small Group Rotations
• Independent Reading
• Students will read independently and take quizzes on books
• Student Application
• Computer adaptive program geared towards individual student needs
• Small Group Instruction
• Students will be in small groups where I can teach skills needed
• Whole Group Wrap up

Todos los días tendremos:

Grading

Grades consist of classwork and quizzes

On a weekly basis students will be graded on :

• Participation (10%)
• Student Application time (30%)
• Independent reading (30%)
• Tests and quizzes (30%)

There will be no assigned homework, since everything is at home. However, if your student needs something else to do have them read.

Two reading choices are:

• Log into HMH and use the library there.
• Log into Clever and go to SORA
• Log into Getepic.com
• Class code: bph9448
