I was introduced this project, a month back. There was a cyclist, who would need a device on her cycle.

  • 35000 kmStarting from 0 district, Jyoti, our rider would try and make a Guiness record
  • Travels AloneShe always travels alone, without any support vehicle, through the villages, towns in India
  • 0 CashJyoti, has never carried cash for her endeavours

The brief!

A device is needed on the cycle to capture data.

  • Geospatial data
  • Orientation data
  • Environmental data
  • Misc data
  • Quality of Life data

The team had a device previously which measured air quality which was also geo tagged.

Why am I so excited about these.

  • Why?The data we capture is a huge volume of raw data. This has no business meaning to it.
  • SoWe have gc-functions for each “information” or “knowledge” we want from this data set.

gc-functions

Journey Summary

One of the most basic example of “information” is a journey summary. To display(cleverly) the journey taken by a rider.

I am looking for help, support, suggestions and contributions to these functions.

There are 5 documented functions in the pipeline.

Tip

Don’t let data stand alone. Always relate it back to a story you’ve already told, in this case, Jyoti’s journey..
