Day-of Volunteer = 2-hour shift

  1. You are very important in helping us run a safe, fun and organized competition!

  • 85% of our all-volunteer Regional Board members will be in a competition space facilitating the competition and working with the teams.

  • We need YOU to help EVERYTHING run smoothly—You are the face of Odyssey!!

  • You will be representing a team who is required to supply

a Day-of volunteer to work a short shift.

  • Please show up to your assigned time and stay throughout. Failure to comply could result in a penalty for your team. Be in touch if you run into a situation. (Susan 412-418-9117)

  • Thank you for taking a moment to understand the logistics of the day and your role in helping the day be awesOMe!

  1. Arrive a little early to your shift to get up to speed. Wear a volunteer name tag. Get to know your station. When new volunteers arrive, get them set up and give advice on how to approach your station.

  • There will be a clipboard at each station with a map of the building and other pertinent information. The main information stations will have additional information which can identify where volunteers should be, where each student is performing, and more.

10. No matter where you are assigned, please be on the lookout for safety concerns, outside assistance concerns, family members who need directions, teams who run into trouble, and more!

11. There are police officers on duty during the competition. Call 911 if there is a medical emergency. There is a first aid kit at the Main Level - 3rd floor - Info Station #1. If there is a fire alarm, help people calmly exit the building.

12. If there are any issues, like an argument, a medical situation, a facilities issue, etc, even if it has been resolved, please write down a short report and let Susan know asap. (412-418-9117)

Please link to the Regional Tournament tab on our website. The Volunteer Sign-up sheet will be live a few weeks before the Tournament. There, you can understand the responsibilities of each assignment & self-register for your shift. All teams who fail to provide a Day Of Volunteer will be assigned a shift and expected to have volunteer serve that role, or risk getting penalty against their total score.

  • Report directly to your assignment.
  • Please arrive early to get acclimated.
  • Sign in on the sign in sheet at your station.
  • If you are last, please collect up the items at your station and take to Info Station #1 - Main Level - 3rd fl.
  • Friday night volunteers should report to Info Station #1 - Main Level - 3rd fl.
