Strong Ears

Dogs are great at hearing with their Ear Drums. But did you know your dog can hear almost more than 10 times better than you but can’t hear higher than cats! Dogs can hear high and low sounds first before we hear it they hear you when you are in a house or anywhere. But don’t think they hear us from the other side of the world! It is loud at night for dogs.

How it helps survival

A dog needs great hearing to know where is it is food is when a dog is in the wild or when a predator is nearby so they run away or at least hide away. If they did not have ears they will be eaten because he can’t hear or be super hungry.

Compare Dog with human

Did you know a dog can hear 10 times better than us because noise bounces of their Horizontal canal and Vertical canal to their Ear Drum which bounces the noise right back out the ear drum. That is how they hear. They hear quiet sounds first and they hear high, low, quiet and loud sounds but they hear lower sounds than cats.
