The County has installed nine free, publicly accessible EV charging stations in convenient locations throughout the County

Gas-powered Vehicles Converted to Propane-Fueled
Using grant funds from the Dept. of Mining and Energy, 18 County vehicles have been converted to utilize propane as a fueling source
This is a cleaner-burning fuel, resulting in less maintenance cost and reduced emissions
Our fuel site project includes a propane fueling option for these vehicles

Fire Station #1 is LEED Certified Silver, includes geothermal system

Energy Efficient Lighting
York County is currently in the process of changing out all of our Dominion light poles from High Pressure Sodium lights to LED’s
The County has allocated a portion of our building maintenance funds to change out just over 200 light pole heads at the waterfront up to Ballard St (pending approval of the new head style) with all LED fixtures. This conversion will use 1/3 of the electricity of the previous ones
The County plans to change the outdoor lights at Chisman Creek Park with LEDs

BMP Inspections are conducted regularly to maintain proper drainage to prevent flooding
Drainage projects are evaluated and completed to improve water drainage in low-lying, flood prone areas
