If an actors shows up to Dance or Blocking rehearsals unprepared they may be asked to sit out. They will need to take notes and learn the movement on their own. It's important to be dressed appropriately for they safety of themselves and others.

How do I know if my student needs to be there?

It is the parent and students responsibility to look at what will be covered on that day and if they need to be at rehearsal. For example if we are covering scene 6 and your character appears in scene 6 you will need to be there. If your character does not appear in scene 6 then you are not required to be at rehearsal but may still join. Please understand that emergencies and unexpected events can affect the schedule. If there is a schedule change the director will inform you ASAP.

Long Days

The school day starts at 7:40am. Rehearsals start at 2:10 pm and don't end until 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm (Starting in January). It is important to be keeping your body energized, meaning you will need proper hydration and food intake. There may be times where the cast has down time. It is encouraged to have snacks and water for these moments. We will also be sure to take designated breaks for water. There will be no guests allowed in the rehearsal processes. Rides and Carpools will be expected to pick up in the front of the school and may not come in and wait in the rehearsal space.

Absences

More than 2 unexcused absences or 3 unexpected tardies may result in a change of students casted role or may result in being excused from the production all together. When you miss or are unprepared it affects EVERYONE involved in the processes.

If too many absences accrue all together even if excused students may need to change roles or be excused from the production.

Starting January there will be no excused absences! Rehearsals are until 4!

Hygiene

All rehearsals will tiring. Students will sweat. It is important that we all practice good hygiene to keep the space clean. All of these things will help.

Every other day if not every day.

Student Expectations

• Attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances.
• Be on time and ready to rehearse.
• Have your script, pencil, water bottle and any required memorized texts.

• Learn lines, music, and blocking by deadlines
• Have respect for:
• Yourself, Peer, Director, Equipment, Set and ANYONE or ANYTHING in the space.

Student Expectations

• If students grades drop below a C average this will be logged in the "student log."
• When this occurs student may be asked to
• sit out of rehearsals or put on temporary leave to allow for time to and opportunity to fix and improve their academic grades.
• The 3rd time this is to occur or if the grade is present on a report card student may be asked to leave to production in order to better support their education.
• If students is absent for more than 5 days or 5 tardies, this will be logged in the "student log." The 6th absent and or 6th tardy may result in student being asked to leave the production in order to better support their education.
• Students may not attend rehearsals if they are not present for the school day.

What happens if these expectations are not met?

If these expectations are not met they will be logged. There is a strict 0 bullying policy. It is at the directors discretion to give the student a different role or remove a student from the production for bullying or having 2 or more logged behaviors.

Changing appearance.

Students may not change or alter their appearance without the director's permission. This is to maintain consistency in character portrayal and costume planning. There are many different things to consider when regarding a time period. Even small changes can affect the overall look of a show.

Double Casting

• A double cast means some or all characters in a show will be casted with 2 people rather than 1.
• This means actors will perform every night, but
• for half of the performances they will be one
• character and for the other half they will be a different character.
• This method of casting gives more opportunities for actors.
• Be sure to check all characters you may be.
• casted as.
• Students need to be both characters, to support and respect their doubles. If a student's does not show up as their ensemble character they may lose their other role.
