MCHS Basic Info

  • MCHS @ SJDC is a public high school and part of Lodi Unified School District. MCHS has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School in 2008, 2015, & 2023. MCHS has also been awarded California Distinguished School status in April of 2019.

  • Inter-district transfers are accepted
    • Be aware Stockton Unified may not sign inter-district transfers to MCHS @ SJDC

  • MCHS @ SJDC is considered a safe school; very few suspensions and no expulsions

MCHS Mission & Vision Statements

  • The Mission of MCHS @ SJDC is: To provide a supportive, academically challenging environment where students are able to successfully complete 30 to 60 transferable college units in order to directly apply to a 4-year college.
  • The Vision of MCHS @ SJDC is: To reach out to youth who are generally underrepresented or have circumstances that would hinder their academic performance at a traditional high school.

MCHS Master Agreement

  • All students are expected to maintain regular and punctual attendance. Excessive tardiness or a pattern of unwarranted absenteeism may result in dismissal from the program.

  • Students are expected to maintain a 2.5 GPA, good attendance and behavior.

MCHS College Classes

  • All students meet with the Delta College counselor annually and they develop and update the Student’s Educational Plan

  • First semester of 9th grade year students are allowed one college course along with a Guidance course
  • The second semester, students may take two classes, but may NOT exceed 6 units.

Statistics and Outcomes

  • 98% of students reach the goal of 30+ transferable units
  • Over 65% graduate with at least one AA many have 3 or 4 AA degrees
  • Approximately 85% will move on to a 4-year institution
  • Students will complete approximately 900 college courses in one academic year and approximately 87% of the 900 classes will result in a letter grade of A or B

  • UC costs $37,652 annually
  • CSU costs $29,077 annually
  • Private Universities can average $74,480 per year
  • Fees and books for the Delta classes are covered for all MCHS students! When a student transfers to a 4 year university, the units they earn at Delta will transfer with as well.

Applications

  • Applications are due Friday, January 31, 2025, by 3:00 p.m.
  • Applications must be submitted online at https://middlecollege.lodiusd.net/
    • Handwritten portions must be handwritten and then scanned and attached to application
    • Recommendation forms (2) must be delivered in-person to Holt 208
  • Interviews will be March 4-6th; families will be sent correspondence via email addresses provided in the application.
