PROBLEM STATEMENT: Universities downplay many sexual assault attempts and incidents on campus, building a bureaucratic curtain around the issue. The media – outlets run by both students and professionals – have worked tirelessly to expose the prevalence of sexual assault on college campuses, but the hoard of information has yet to be aggregated. Despite the large influx of publically-available information regarding sexual assault and higher education, a university's policies, past incidences, and administrative actions surrounding the issue are scattered across various sources. In essence, the public still lacks a complete picture of a university’s sexual assault atmosphere.

SOLUTION OVERVIEW: Our web application seeks to promote transparency and accountability of sexual assault among universities by publicly displaying articles, statistics, and information relevant to university incidences on a searchable profile page. By compiling all information regarding sexual assault onto one easily-accessible profile we hope to change university policy for the long-term.
AUDIENCE:
CampusWatch will target university-aged students as well as anti-sexual assault advocates of any age.
WHY IS THIS SOLUTION UNIQUE?
Although sexual assault information regarding each university is public through newspaper portals and search engines, it has yet to be compiled into a user-friendly format. Our web application will create a unique profile for each university so that all publically-available information regarding sexual assault for that particular school is in one, easy-to-reach place.
