The Servant and Faintheartedness
وخان بنو إسرائيل خيانة في الحرام، فأخذ عخان بن كرمي بن زبدي بن زارح من سبط يهوذا من الحرام فحمي غضب الرب على بني إسرائيل. وأرسل يشوع رجالا من أريحا إلى عاي التي عند بيت اون شرقي بيت ايل و كلمهم قائلا: "اصعدوا تجسسوا الأرض." فصعد الرجال و تجسسوا عاي.
But the children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things, for Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed things; so the anger of the Lord burned against the children of Israel. Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, "Go up and spy out the country." So the men went up and spied out Ai.
ثم رجعوا إلى يشوع وقالوا له: "لا يصعد كل الشعب بل يصعد نحو ألفي رجل أو ثلاثة آلاف رجل و يضربوا عاي. لا تكلف كل الشعب إلى هناك لأنهم قليلون." فصعد من الشعب إلى هناك نحو ثلاثة آلاف رجل و هربوا أمام أهل عاي. فضرب منهم أهل عاي نحو ستة و ثلاثين رجلا و لحقوهم من أمام الباب إلى شباريم و ضربوهم في المنحدر. فذاب قلب الشعب و صار مثل الماء.
And they returned to Joshua and said to him, "Do not let all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and attack Ai. Do not weary all the people there, for the people of Ai are few.” So about three thousand men went up there from the people, but they fled before the men of Ai. And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six men, for they chased them from before the gate as far as Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent; therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water.
فمزق يشوع ثيابه و سقط على وجهه إلى الأرض أمام تابوت الرب إلى المساء هو و شيوخ إسرائيل ووضعوا ترابا على رؤوسهم. وقال يشوع: "آه يا سيد الرب! لماذا عبرت هذا الشعب الأردن تعبيرا لكي تدفعنا إلى يد الأموريين ليبيدونا؟ ليتنا ارتضينا و سكنا في عبر الأردن. أسألك يا سيد ماذا أقول بعدما حول إسرائيل قفاه أمام أعدائه؟
Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. And Joshua said, "Alas, Lord God, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all -- to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!
O Lord, what shall I say when Israel turns its back before its enemies?
فيسمع الكنعانيون و جميع سكان الأرض ويحيطون بنا و يقرضون اسمنا من الأرض و ماذا تصنع لاسمك العظيم؟" فقال الرب ليشوع: "قم لماذا أنت ساقط على وجهك؟" ( يش 7 : 1 – 10 )
For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear it, and surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. Then what will You do for Your great name?” So the Lord said to Joshua: "Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?” (Jos 7 : 1 – 10 )

فمزق يشوع ثيابه و سقط على وجهه إلى الأرض أمام تابوت الرب إلى المساء هو وشيوخ إسرائيل ووضعوا ترابا على رؤوسهم (يش 7 : 6)
Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. (Jos 7 : 6)

The Remedy
فقال الرب ليشوع: "قم لماذا أنت ساقط على وجهك؟ قد أخطأ إسرائيل بل تعدوا عهدي الذي أمرتهم به بل أخذوا من الحرام بل سرقوا بل انكروا بل وضعوا في أمتعتهم.
So the LORD said to Joshua: "Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?, "Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put [it] among their own stuff.
فلم يتمكن بنو إسرائيل للثبوت أمام أعدائهم. يديرون قفاهم أمام أعدائهم لأنهم محرومون و لا أعود أكون معكم إن لم تبيدوا الحرام من وسطكم." ( يش 7 : 10 – 12 )
"Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.”
(Jos 7 : 10 – 12 )
العلاج

Think of the Resurrection –

قم ... بمعنى لا تستسلم للحزن أو اليأس
Arise .. In the sense of
‘Don’t give in to sadness or despair’
قم ... بص عليَّ أنا ... (اللي دعاك يكون معك)

لست أنا السبب الوحيد في المشاكل
I am not the only cause of the problems
ابحث بواقعية عن سبب المشكلة أو الخسارة
Look realistically for the cause of the problem or loss
هل تعطي ثقة لأصدقائك أكثر من الصلاة ؟!
هل تعجلت القرار ؟!
هل أكدت عليهم الوصية ؟!
لوم نفسك لكن باعتدال
Reproach Yourself Wisely
Do you trust your friends more than prayer?
Did you make the decision too quickly?
Did you firmly establish the commandment with them?
تذكر
Remember
لا يقف انسان في وجهك كل أيام حياتك. كما كنت مع موسى أكون معك. لا أهملك ولا أتركك. تشدد وتشجع لأنك أنت تقسم لهذا الشعب الأرض التي حلفت لآبائهم أن أعطيهم.
No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
إنما كن متشددا و تشجع جدا لكي تتحفظ للعمل حسب كل الشريعة التي أمرك بها موسى عبدي. لا تمل عنها يمينا و لا شمالا لكي تفلح حيثما تذهب.
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.

لا يبرح سفر هذه الشريعة من فمك بل تلهج فيه نهارا و ليلا لكي تتحفظ للعمل حسب كل ما هو مكتوب فيه. لأنك حينئذ تصلح طريقك و حينئذ تفلح. ( يش 1 : 5 – 8 )
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

أما الذين من خارج فالله يدينهم فاعزلوا الخبيث من بينكم (1كو 5 : 13)
But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person." (1Co 5 : 13)
فقدم بيته برجاله فأخذ عخان بن كرمي بن زبدي بن زارح من سبط يهوذا، فقال يشوع لعخان: "يا ابني أعط الآن مجدا للرب إله إسرائيل واعترف له واخبرني الآن ماذا عملت. لا تخف عني."
Then he brought his household man by man, and Achan the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken. Now Joshua said to Achan, "My son, I beg you, give glory to the Lord God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me."

فأجاب عخان يشوع وقال: "حقا إني قد أخطأت إلى الرب إله إسرائيل وصنعت كذا و كذا." ( يش 7 : 18 – 20 )
And Achan answered Joshua and said, "Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I have done:”

فقال الرب ليشوع: "لا تخف ولا ترتعب. خذ معك جميع رجال الحرب، وقم اصعد إلى عاي. انظر. قد دفعت بيدك ملك عاي و شعبه و مدينته وأرضه،
Now the Lord said to Joshua: "Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.

فتفعل بعاي و ملكها كما فعلت باريحا و ملكها غير ان غنيمتها و بهائمها تنهبونها لنفوسكم اجعل كمينا للمدينة من ورائها. ( يش 8 : 1 – 2 )
And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king. Only its spoil and its cattle you shall take as booty for yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it.

Do Not Keep Ignoring the Small Problems
فألقي الصوت على جميع الشعب الذين في المدينة للسعي وراءهم فسعوا وراء يشوع و انجذبوا عن المدينة. ولم يبق في عاي أو في بيت إيل رجل لم يخرج وراء إسرائيل فتركوا المدينة مفتوحة و سعوا وراء إسرائيل.
So all the people who were in Ai were called together to pursue them. And they pursued Joshua and were drawn away from the city. There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel. So they left the city open and pursued Israel.
فقال الرب ليشوع: "مد المزراق الذي بيدك نحو عاي لأني بيدك أدفعها." فمد يشوع المزراق الذي بيده نحو المدينة.
Then the Lord said to Joshua, "Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand." And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city.

فقام الكمين بسرعة من مكانه و ركضوا عندما مد يده و دخلوا المدينة وأخذوها وأسرعوا و أحرقوا المدينة بالنار. ( يش 8 : 16 – 19 )
So those in ambush arose quickly out of their place; they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand, and they entered the city and took it, and hurried to set the city on fire. ( Jos 8 : 16 – 19 )

كما أمر موسى عبد الرب بني إسرائيل كما هو مكتوب في سفر توراة موسى مذبح حجارة صحيحة لم يرفع أحد عليها حديدا و اصعدوا عليه محرقات للرب و ذبحوا ذبائح سلامة
(يش 8 : 31)
As Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses: "an altar of whole stones over which no man has wielded an iron tool“. And they offered on it burnt offerings to the Lord, and sacrificed peace offerings (Jos 8 : 31)

عاي كانت ضرورية للمستقبل
Ai was necessary for the future ahead
