CalState S4 / MySLP REGISTERING PLACEMENTS
A step-by-step guide to registering your service learning, after getting the “green light” from your site!
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a laptop/desktop browser (Chrome or Firefox) to register your placement. While the platform is “mobile-friendly”, some formatting and functionalities may be askew and/or limited.
Before You Start:
Did you get the approval from the site
(aka community partner, site supervisor, host teacher, school representative)
to register your placement?
If not, reconnect with your contact to see if you will be working together this semester. See “Opportunity Application Instructions” on the Opportunity page in CalState S4/MySLP for information on how to contact the site.
If so, please proceed.

You should know the name of your Opportunity and/or Site before registering your placement.
Search using the Opportunity Name if you know it.
Search Site Name if you don’t know the name of your opportunity, then select the opportunity from the results.
NOTE: The search is NOT a smart search, meaning your entry must match the system’s data exactly in order for it to show in the results.
ADVICE: LESS IS MORE.
Type only a few characters of a word into one field.
OPPORTUNITY NAME
only searches opportunity title
Tip: use the most unique word in the name to focus your search
SITE NAME
only searches within title of organization
Tip: use the most unique word in the name to focus your search
We do NOT recommend using the crossed-out search fields, as they are less likely to warrant results. Instead, use opportunity name, site name, or keyword.
