What are the challenges faced�by children and adolescents today?

It is not a secret that young people face a myriad of challenges growing up such as issues on poverty, health and wellbeing, education, vulnerability to violence to name a few. The global pandemic also took a toll on children and adolescents, as the uncertainties of circumstances has led them to be afraid of dreaming big and exploring their capabilities more. On top of these problems, there is also a Filipino notion that children can’t do anything to effect change in the community thus leaving young people with no voice on issues concerning them.

What did we learn from our�YOUNG HEROES?

While we believe that children can, it is our responsibility to provide adequate support (youth mentor, expert mentor, child protection officer, LGU) and resources (seed grant, access to vital information, and relevant training).
Adolescents get comfortable when we talk in their language (follow tiktok trends, relate to their jokes, and engage them casually).
With proper guidance, ideas from children and adolescents can be transformed into witty executions of how we raise awareness and prevention of issues revolving on children and adolescents.
Keep the process simple yet fun.
Invest in long term engagements with children and adolescents for maximum growth and impact.
